Gallagher's Brewing Co. Update
This is the third beer that GBC had put out after releasing a pilsner (not bad) and stout (terrible) in early 2011. This pumpkin porter was brewed with pumpkin pie puree and spices. The goal is for it to be an easy drinking pumpkin porter that tastes like pumpkin pie in a bottle. The hope is that it doesn't cause projectile vomiting on consumption.
Stay tuned for a review.
Troegs Dead Reckoning Porter
Grabbed a 6-pack of this Maryland born porter at Stirling Wines in Stilring, NJ. It poured and smelt like a typical chocolate porter - black with a sweet scent of cocoa. Taste was very chocolatey and sweet with some nice hops kicking in at the end. It was a bit too carbonated for my liking, but overall I thought that it was a very solid porter. Definitely recommend.

Guinness @ McGovern's
As for the Guinness, was a solid pour that left a nice sized head. It was smooth and delicious as expected, but not a top contender. I'd rate it a notch under Tierney's level, but still a very good pint. One downfall was that it was served a bit colder than I like, but the ambiance more than makes up for it. Might not be a top 5 tasting Guinness, but I'd easily say its a top 5 place to go and have one.

Dogfish Head Punkin Ale
As for the review, I poured the brew into a glass and it was a darker orange, almost brown color with a small head that quickly faded. Smell was nutmeg, cinnamon and the usual pumpkin beer spices, but not much actual pumpkin. Taste was as expected, spices without much of a pumpkin taste. It finished with some hops, but wasn't as hoppy as I expected based on the reviews I had read on it. More malty than anything and did nothing to separate itself from the pack. It was definitely one of the more hoppy pumpkin ales, but didn't do it for me. I think I'm being a little harsher on this one because I had such high expectations for a Dogfish Head beer, but I just didn't think it was amazing. I'll give it a second chance before Halloween, but as of now its not even in the top 5.
